The Adventure Begins

And that's not even all of them.
Two people, one year, nine bags.
The big blue bag is full of shoes, sweaters, and the real, Navy issued pea coat I found for Super Husband at Family Thrift for $15.
The long black duffel contains the two long, thick jackets my mom gave me, and more of my clothes.
The pink and blue Ikat duffels are split pretty evenly between my clothes, and Super Husband's. The little blue roller bag is full of all of our toiletries, including but by no means limited to a year supply of feminine products, shampoo, and 12 razors for each of us.
How do you pack for a year in China?
If you're us, you roll lots of clothes into tube shapes and stuff them into all of your luggage.
You also take baby wipes in your carry-on bags.
If you've ever been to the third world, you know why.
We're sitting at our gate, a whopping four hours early for our connection to Beijing.
I managed to snag the seats closest to the power tower. All of our assorted electronics are dutifully charging up. Who knows when we'll have an opportunity after this?

Our flight from Houston was delayed over an hour due to some network failure of United's, but we made our flight out of LAX with a whole two minutes to spare. Thirteen hours of fitful sleep and special vegetarian meals, courtesy of Asiana Airlines, later and we're at Incheon. We lost Wednesday as we chased the sun over the Pacific.
The last leg of our journey is a quick two hour jaunt to Beijing, our new home. I hope Karen, who will be picking us up at the airport, has brought a van, because we certainly brought luggage.

Caribou Coffee has opened, and their sign features a delightful selection of overpriced blended coffees. I believe I'll try the... oh, the names are all in Korean.
